Vegan Meals in Eastern African Cities or Lodges?

Hello Vegan Travelers!
I would like to discuss a somewhat controversial topic for vegans. People who are passionate about travel, frequently find themselves yearning to visit the African continent to view the incredible wildlife. However, as we all know, it is not uncommon for those on safari to view mammals taking each others’ lives.

As a vegan, it is undeniable that we have no desire to witness this slaughter, regardless of the fact that it is the wildlife engaging in this activity, not the human beings. Animal-loving peoples do have other options to experience the amazing beauty of the animal kingdom in this region of the world!

One alternative is to visit a smaller, animal sanctuary where visitors are still gathered onto jeep vehicles to circumvent the park. However, the animals are peacefully roaming about with no predators attacking any other. The other option is to simply go on jeep tour where the opportunity to see magnificent creatures will present itself throughout the drive in the villages.

Now that this issue has been resolved, you may be wondering and yes.. very concerned about vegan meal options in safari country! It is not as much of an issue as you would believe. In Kenyan safari country, many visitors tend to select a lodge as their accommodations.

Fortunately for vegans, Kenya’s rich history includes influences from India. Veggie-friendly travelers can expect to find vegetable Indian curry dishes as their meal options. The country even boasts of their own Vegetarian Society. One of PETA’s Lettuce Lady demos took place in Kenya! Nairobi offers three vegan-friendly restaurants. Several lodges in the Masa Mara region, offer vegetarian and vegan meals.

The Paradise Mara Camp is a heaven sent place for vegans! Veggie Indian cuisine is the specialty of the house. The chef even prepares vegetarian and vegan cuisine in separate kitchens!

As this region is becoming more and more vegan-friendly, vegan travelers can feel at ease and allow themselves the opportunity to visit this beautiful part of the world !
