Vegan Dining & Sightseeing in St. Paul, Minnesota!

During my recent weekend trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota, I had the opportunity to visit the city of St. Paul for several hours one evening. My agenda included a bit of touristy sightseeing, as well as vegan dining! There is a bus from Minneapolis whose final destination is St. Paul. The ride is approximately 30 minutes.

Upon my arrival, I headed directly to an extremely popular ice cream shop. Izzy’s Ice Cream(Izzy’s Ice Cream) offers several vegan selections each day. I opted for the soy blueberry in a cone, with a small dollop of soy chocolate as the top scoop. It was scrumptious! They offer a few varieties of vegan ice cream pints in their freezer case for purchase. I noticed the chocolate peanut butter.

For my evening meal, I chose to have dinner at the only vegetarian, yet vegan-friendly restaurant in town called “Bravo Cafe and Bakery”(Bravo Cafe and Bakery). It is an Asian cuisine restaurant. I ordered the vegan spareribs with broccoli and brown rice. My meal was fantastic! The ‘spareribs’ had a perfect consistency and were covered in a flavorful brown sauce.

After my meal, I got on the bus and stopped at St. Paul’s Cathedral. It is a landmark and a national shrine which depicts the life of St. Paul. The glorious structure was a magnificent sight to behold with it’s intricate details and massive stature!

My final destination was the State Capitol. It has been listed on the National Historic Registry. The Capitol celebrated its centennial several years ago. The lavishly furnished building with its impressive dome reminds one of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Visitors may take a tour of the interior.

I enjoyed my visit to the city! St. Paul is a must-see destination for its landmarks and its vegan dining and sweets scene!
